Thought Street.: A fortuitous learning from a regular change.
Thought Street.: A fortuitous learning from a regular change.: There are 365 days in a year. Its been a lot of years since humans existed. I don't really have a specific value but I am sure of it. D...
My reason for attempting to keep fit.
I would be lying if I said for at least the last few years of my life fitness and health had not been important to me. As much as I enjoy having fun I firmly believe that fitness can be fun as well and, for me anyway at this present moment in time, I like to try too keep fit because it is nice to be able to run around and just generally have fun without getting tired.
As well as the physical benefits I find there are also many mental ones such as a decrease in stress levels and an increase in serotonin levels which generally put me in a better mood haha. I find that going to the gym gives me a lot of time to think about anything and everything really and encourages goal setting and optimism as you know that with every exercise session your level of fitness will only improve!!
I personally, though quite outspoken, am in fact still a teensy bit shy (>.<) though I know for many people going to the gym can also give them an opportunity to socialise and find friends with common interests (obviously this isn't limited to just the gym).
One of my main reasons for trying to keep fit is because I think that your inside affects who you are outside, does that make sense? When running or lifting weights or whatever I know that my muscles are respiring, my heart is pumping and in the long-term I will reap in the benefits as well as the rush of happiness gained straight after. Many people set themselves targets, these definitely help to keep you motivated and currently my simple one of just wanting to keep healthy is working though if that changes I'll be sure to rethink my target ^^

After joining a feminist club last year I learned that the original reason women removed their hair is to make themselves look like children so that men could dominate them. This, quite frankly, horrified me and I sincerely hope it does everyone else; that is perverse! Since then I have been trying to muster up the courage within myself to stop shaving/ waxing/ removing my body hair completely as after all why would we possibly want to continue such a repulsive and disturbing tradition? I have fallen in and out of removing and not removing body hair due to social pressure and because as much as I admire many feminists unlike them unfortunately I do not posses such bravery though recently I remembered a line from Emma Watsons speech that struck me and really has helped me gain some courage: "If not me. who? And if not now, when?". This is possibly, in my opinion anyway, the most inspirational line for encouraging any kind of change and social justice and an important line to remember when having doubts about whatever it is you are striving to achieve, as well as utilitarianism and helping people not harming them haha; anyway, I hope this little post has inspired you/ helped in some way and before I go to sleep I want to wish you a happy blogging! ;D
Oh how I admire those amongst us that not only realise our social constraints but break free from them!
How liberating, how wonderful, how beautiful... What role models!
Oh how I long to posses such bravery. such courage, such valour!
Non-conformity, boldness and the ability to step out of a situation... Oh how amazing are they?
But you can be like them whispers a voice... It's none other than William James!
So I strive towards achieving my goals laughing in the face of mizz.apprehensive. Good-bye you, crazy. scary, trivial cow!
No one is harmed, it feels good... Oh so good! Bliss isn't the word... Ahh, I sit and stair up at the sky a smile creeping across my face... The chains that tied me down have been broken... They were never really there in the first place.
