After joining a feminist club last year I learned that the original reason women removed their hair is to make themselves look like children so that men could dominate them. This, quite frankly, horrified me and I sincerely hope it does everyone else; that is perverse! Since then I have been trying to muster up the courage within myself to stop shaving/ waxing/ removing my body hair completely as after all why would we possibly want to continue such a repulsive and disturbing tradition? I have fallen in and out of removing and not removing body hair due to social pressure and because as much as I admire many feminists unlike them unfortunately I do not posses such bravery though recently I remembered a line from Emma Watsons speech that struck me and really has helped me gain some courage: "If not me. who? And if not now, when?". This is possibly, in my opinion anyway, the most inspirational line for encouraging any kind of change and social justice and an important line to remember when having doubts about whatever it is you are striving to achieve, as well as utilitarianism and helping people not harming them haha; anyway, I hope this little post has inspired you/ helped in some way and before I go to sleep I want to wish you a happy blogging! ;D
