My reason for attempting to keep fit.

I would be lying if I said for at least the last few years of my life fitness and health had not been important to me. As much as I enjoy having fun I firmly believe that fitness can be fun as well and, for me anyway at this present moment in time, I like to try too keep fit because it is nice to be able to run around and just generally have fun without getting tired.

As well as the physical benefits I find there are also many mental ones such as a decrease in stress levels and an increase in serotonin levels which generally put me in a better mood haha. I find that going to the gym gives me a lot of time to think about anything and everything really and encourages goal setting and optimism as you know that with every exercise session your level of fitness will only improve!!

I personally, though quite outspoken, am in fact still a teensy bit shy (>.<) though I know for many people going to the gym can also give them an opportunity to socialise and find friends with common interests (obviously this isn't limited to just the gym).

One of my main reasons for trying to keep fit is because I think that your inside affects who you are outside, does that make sense? When running or lifting weights or whatever I know that my muscles are respiring, my heart is pumping and in the long-term I will reap in the benefits as well as the rush of happiness gained straight after. Many people set themselves targets, these definitely help to keep you motivated and currently my simple one of just wanting to keep healthy is working though if that changes I'll be sure to rethink my target ^^
